A high-profile ABC reporter has smeared Australia as a 'racist country'.

Laura Tingle, a staff-elected board member and the chief political correspondent for 7.30, made the comment at the Sydney Writers' Festival on Sunday.

'We are a racist country, let's face it. We always have been, and it's very depressing,' she said during the event.

It’s has been clear for a long period of time that the ABC is out of control and needs to be defunded.

From its attacks on Christianity and Australia Day, to its promotion of drag queens for kids and abortion, the ABC operates more like a left wing activist group than an independent and balanced state-owned media organisation.
