FamilyVoice Australia Mother and Grandmother of the Year
Christian advocacy group FamilyVoice Australia has named Western Australian Kerrie Hogg and South Australian medical doctor Padma Solomon as its fifth Mother and Grandmother of the Year.
“Kerrie Hogg is a most worthy recipient of our Mother of the Year award, as she and her husband not only raise their own four sons but on-boarded another four children from Kerrie’s extended family in their hour of need,” said FamilyVoice Australia spokesman Andrew McColl.
“Kerrie and her husband did not hesitate to extend their family when four close relatives of minor age experienced mental trauma,” Andrew McColl said.
“In response to Kerrie’s motherly encouragement, the kids have become incredibly happy and thoroughly enjoy their studies at their local school.
“They are thriving as part of Kerrie’s family of eight young people.”
FamilyVoice Australia is also delighted to name South Australian medical practitioner Dr Padma Solomon as the 2025 Grandmother of the Year.
“Padma glows with pride as she now sees her four children raising her three grandchildren, after her young family suffered a huge setback in trouble-torn Sri Lanka,” Andrew McColl said.
“She and her husband and four children lost everything during riots in 1983 but fled to Australia where the family has flourished.
“Though Padma had to requalify in Australia, she served as an outstanding general practitioner and now in retirement is devoting herself to encouraging her three grandchildren.”
FamilyVoice Australia is once again hosting the 'Mother of the Year Awards' for a fifth year.
