Tell Chalmers monarchy 1080px

Treasurer Jim Chalmers and the Reserve Bank have made a politically motivated decision to erase King Charles from Australia’s $5 note, replacing him with a design that removes our constitutional monarchy.

The RBA claims that the new design will “recognise the enduring connection that First Nations peoples have to Country – as an emotional and spiritual connection, as much as a physical one”.

This activism represents yet another instance of woke ideology overriding tradition and national identity.

Australia’s $50 note already acknowledges Indigenous heritage by honoring David Unaipon—an Aboriginal Australian preacher, inventor, and author. His inclusion on our currency is a fitting tribute to Indigenous contributions to Australia. There is no need to politicise the $5 note by erasing the monarchy, which has been a fundamental part of our nation's identity.

The government claims the change is about “reflecting modern Australia,” but in reality, it is a move to erode our heritage and sever ties with the Crown.

This decision follows the failed Voice referendum, where voters rejected divisive identity politics. The government should respect the will of the people and stop using national symbols to push ideological agendas.
