Tell Liberals Income Splitting 1080px

Australia’s tax system is punishing parents — especially those who choose to stay home or work part-time to raise their children.

Right now, a single-income household pays significantly more tax than a dual-income household earning the same combined income. That’s not fair — and it’s making life harder for families already feeling the cost-of-living squeeze.

Income splitting — where couples are taxed on their combined income — would bring relief, restore fairness, and give families genuine choice in how they balance work and care.

This reform recognises the unpaid and often undervalued contribution of stay-at-home parents, particularly mothers, who sacrifice paid work to care for young children. It would also allow families more flexibility to make decisions that are best for their children, rather than being forced into financial arrangements shaped by tax penalties.

Call on the Liberals to champion income splitting and stand up for Aussie families.
