The Lord’s Prayer in the Victorian Parliament is under attack.
There will be a vote on whether to retain the Lord’s Prayer on July 31 in the Legislative Council.
The Lord’s Prayer is recited daily at the commencement of Parliament and is an important tradition.
The reciting of the Lord’s Prayer is consistent with the Australian Constitution which says in its preamble that we are a people who humbly rely on the blessings of almighty God.
It is also a recognition of a greater power: Almighty God, his goodness and role as the source of provision, forgiveness, holiness and salvation.
Please send a quick message to your Victorian MPs urging them to keep the Lord’s Prayer.
