Border closures are damaging family relationships and business.

They are also inconsistent with section 92 of the Australian Constitution which says that:

trade, commerce, and intercourse among the States, whether by means of internal carriage or ocean navigation, shall be absolutely free.

What part of “absolutely” is ambiguous?

Christmas time is one of the most important periods in the year for families to reconnect. But political leaders who are trigger happy when it comes to closing our borders are putting this at risk.

Further, the uncertainty is damaging businesses which are already struggling with many cancelling or reconsidering interstate holiday plans.

Two weeks to flatten the curve has turned into two years. It should not turn into three.

Vaccination rates have already hit very high levels. We must be allowed to get back to normal and have our freedoms back.

Premiers must commit to keeping the borders open.
