At a time when religious freedom is under attack, Country Liberal Party leader Lia Finocchiaro is walking away from commitments made to parents and Christian schools in the Northern Territory.

Families were promised protection for faith-based schools to uphold their beliefs and teach in line with their convictions. Instead, Finocchiaro has broken that promise — undermining the rights of parents and schools to choose teachers who share their values.

This is a deeply disappointing betrayal. Religious freedom is not a fringe issue — it is a fundamental right that ensures diversity, parental choice, and the ability of Christian schools to remain true to their mission.
