Castle Law is simple! Castle Law is restoring balance to our justice system. Castle Law backs law-abiding Queenslanders over criminals. If someone breaks into your home, you should have every right to defend yourself and your family without worrying about legal definitions and prosecution. 

Currently Queensland’s laws favour criminals over innocent victims. If you defend yourself, you must prove it was “necessary” and “reasonable”, which is absurd when someone’s smashing through your door. 

The last Petition demanding the introduction of Castle Law received over 113,000 Queensland signatures, making this the largest E-petition in Queensland history. 

Queenslander are clearly sick of seeing the system bend over backwards for criminals while victims are left to the wolves. The government can either stand with Queenslanders or stand with the home invaders. 

On Wednesday, 4 March 2026, Robbie Katter MP, Member for Traeger, introduced the Castle Law Bill into Queensland Parliament. The Bill was referred to the Justice, Integrity and Community Safety Committee for detailed consideration. 

The closing date for written submissions is 10.00am Tuesday, 21 April 2026.
